The following are some of the Regulations and expectations to be adhered to at Tranquillity Secondary School. You can click on any of them to read.
All parents/guardians are asked to read thoroughly the following documents and bring it to the attention of your children: the new National School Hair Code, the National School Discipline Matrix and the National School Code of Conduct.
The following are strictly prohibited at Tranquillity Secondary School:
Bringing any object which can act as a weapon on to the school compound. This includes toys that look like a weapon.
Bullying or intimidating a student by any means including social media.
Disrespect or defiance shown to any adult on the compound.
Extortion, taxing or theft committed by any individual acting alone or by a group of persons working together.
Fighting in and outside of school.
Gambling
Bringing explosive devices or fire-starting devices of any kind such as but not limited to matches, firecrackers, lighters or scratch bombs.
Lewd or inappropriate behavior or acts.
Possession, sale or use of alcohol, drugs such as marijuana, tobacco or vaping products.
Sharing misinformation to create mischief or to cause a fight.
Sexual harassment or any type of Sexual Activity on the compound.
Vandalism of the school property or any person’s property.
Use of obscene language.
Use of cell phones between the hours of 7:50am – 2:20pm. Emergency phone calls are to be made in the school’s office.
Bringing any items to sell on the compound without the permission of the principal or vice principal(s).
Leaving the school compound during school hours without the permission of the principal or vice principal(s).
Parents are asked to note that failure to follow the code of conduct of the school and the Ministry of Education (MOE) can result in parental conferences, community work, detention, suspension or expulsion (not necessarily in that order).
All parents/guardians are asked to view the school's uniform requirements HERE. In addition, parents/guardians are asked to pay close attention to the following guidelines below.
Students are not to attend school with:
Coloured/dyed/bleached hair: strands, sections, pieces, braids or whole head
Nose rings of any size/kind/shape.
Tongue rings
More than one pair of earrings or industrial piercing.
Weaves or Braids in styles inappropriate for school. Hair is pulled back from the face and secured at the back of the head. The hair style should not pose a hazard or distraction to other students.
False Eyelashes
Marked eyebrows
Polished/acrylic nails
Makeup of any kind
Coloured Shoes are strictly prohibited
Slippers with or without socks are not allowed as these pose a safety hazard.
Tightly adjusted trousers/school shirts.
Students are to attend school with:
Skirt must be two (2) inches below the knee
Black socks
White T-shirt worn under school’s shirt
Physical Education (PE) t-shirts are only to be worn during PE class.
Parents/Guardians are asked to note that failure to dress students appropriately for school would result in parental conferences, community work, detention, suspension or expulsion of your child, not necessarily in that order.
On entering the gates of Tranquillity Secondary School, your child/ward will immediately sense the atmosphere of learning, growth and community.
